If you chose an editable CMS website that gives you control of your updates, then as part of the service we give you a training session in how to manage that process. We build your site using the Joomla Content Management System. This is Open Source Software - a truly incredible feature of the internet, because this sophisticated and brilliantly designed software is very easy to understand, highly extendable AND it is made available completely free.
The step-by-step tutorials in this section (laid out in the tabbed menu on the left) explain how easy it is to edit and update your website, once the Joomla system has been installed and the structure and design of your new site has been established by our designers.
It's no harder to update or modify your site than changing the text in a Microsoft Word document.
The first step is to log into the "Administration" section of your CMS website using the username and password we provided to you. We explain that in the next TAB.
Click on "Log in to the CMS" in the TABS to begin the tutorial.
1. Log in to the administration section of your web site (or "back-end") using the address http://yoursitename.com/administrator (i.e type your website address or URL plus a forward slash (/) and then the word "administrator).
Enter the username and password we supply, and click "log-in". In the following example image the user name is "admin" :

Once you have logged on you wil see a control panel. You can click on "Article Manager" to view a list of all the pages in your website.

You can also find this list of pages by browsing the top menu:
2. Along the top row of menus, choose "content"
3. In the drop down menu, click "All content items".
This shows you a list of all the pages in your website.
Notice on the right of the list that the pages each belong to a 'section' and a 'category'. We have already created the sections and their subcategories for your website. Every page must belong to a section and a category. This helps you organise your website and, if you have a site with a large number of pages, also helps to find pages quickly.
